NYC - Day 8

Another full day planned here:

We started off by visiting the Grand Central Station:

Then we made our way over to the Statue of Liberty

IMG_0669

The lines to go through security were sooo long, it wrapped around the entire Battery Park and took us a few hours. It was a day of waiting in lines. But while we were waiting this clown saw us.. and he said Hey Lovebirds, let me sing you a song.. and he sang, "wo ai ne, wo ai ne" it was very cute. We laughed so hard. He pinpointed david very quickly.

Finally all through the security check points.. and here we are .. looking at the sweet lady herself... and the beautiful skylines.

Of course when we got back from Liberty, it was very dark again.. But we did take a moment to go and visit the WTC..and the fire stations.

Stay tuned to where we went to eat dinner.. So YUMMY! David has to upload the pictures...

NYC - Day 6 (Rain)

On Day 6, it is supposed to be raining, so we decided to hit the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Before heading over to the MET, we decided to fill our hungry tummys with some H&H bagel. Rated #1 in NY. Uhhh, we went to a knock off locations. But it was still yummy...

For an afternoon of some education! Its amazing how large and beautiful the architecture is... My Favorite was the European Paintings and the American Wing.

IMG_0003  Thats us resting inside the Museum. The coatcheck line was out the door.. so we carried most of our coats and scarves... We spent about 4 hours wandering around this HUGE Museum, and came out on the other side HUNGRY! Oh yeah baby.

So time for some Ramen. There is this hole in the wall Ramen place near Astor Place (no idea where that is) but we hopped onto the subway and go there in no time.

IMG_0334

Thats the whole restaurant. its sooo skinny. Behind us is the wall, we sit at this little table, and order and eat. Whoo hoo. Ramen was pricey but hot and good. and warmed us up real quick. From there we ventured off to find what other foods there were. They had a quaint little bakery, which we dabbled at, and then we walked to one of the largest paper stores in NY. Katie's Paperie. OH yeah, bliss, but too expensive to actually purchase anything. So we just looked around for 1 hour and walked out. We did a little shopping and called it a night quickly after. But mark this place.. we will be back! Oh we made our first attempt to try to go to Beard Papa's sweet cream puffs, but it was closed.. boo hoo .. still on CA time.

Yo SP, we found this place for your future inspirations..and almost got hit by a car taking a picture of it.

NYC - Day 5 (Christmas Day)

I have never really been away from family and friends (although I am here with family and friends).. but you know .. home.. I have never been away from home for Christmas. So spending it in New York is quite an adventure.

There is only really one area that is bustling on Christmas day.. which is CHINATOWN. Oh yeah... We tried to go to this Golden Unicorn joint for Dim Sum, when we finally got there it was completly booked. So we decided to head over to Joe's Shanghai Dumpling joint. This place... is not very good in terms of chinese food, but their crab and pork dumplings are to die for! Yes so yummy. There were all these directions on how to eat the dumpling. I think we ate a whole bucket of dumplings... until our tummys burst..

 IMG_9816 IMG_9813

Sorry there is only two dumplings left, we didn't get the camera out in time.. that is starting to be a problem.  I know the dumplings look very saggy, but there is yummy dumpling juice inside waiting to be slurped out! oh yeah...

What else is there to do in NY for Christmas? To watch the Rocketts Christmas Spectacular? thats right..

IMG_9849

Oh yeah, look at those legs kick! My sister said that she wants to be a Rockett as well.

After the Rocketts we headed over to Time Square and ate snacks at Europa Cafe. (nothing too spectacular to note)
